The sound body of the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra interacts with an administration of smell sequences conceptualized specifically for this encounter: in „Orchestral Whifftracks“ earth sounds meet green scents, water music encounters a breath of ocean. Rural and urban spheres, orchestral and full of scents, associative and contrapuntal. An immersive, symphonic and synosmatic concert. With guests of the London Improvisers Orchestra and of Spectrum Concerts Berlin.

The Berlin Improvisers Orchestra (Ber.I.O.) was founded by Saxophonist Anna Kaluza in June 2010, with the help of “accoucheurs” Alison Blunt and Ricardo Tejero from the London Improvisers Orchestra (L.I.O.). The musicians conduct pieces using continuously developing hand signals based on the conduction concept of American composer and improviser Butch Morris, these gestures are used and expanded upon by improvising orchestras worldwide. The Berlin Improvisers Orchestra is formed by international musicians among the most excellent in the fields of new music, improvisation and jazz. It is performing regularly also with guest soloists and guest musicians of other Ensembles.
The concert „Orchstral Whifftracks“ has been structured and produced by Wolfgang Georgsdorf, who has created Smeller 2.0 and Osmodrama and who is part of the orchestra himself as a violinist and conductor since 2011.
