Wie ein Film durch Bilder Bewegung durch einen Raum simuliert, erzeugt der Smeller Raumbewegung durch Gerüche. Zurzeit steht Georgsdorfs Geruchsorgel in der St.-Johannes-Evangelist-Kirche in Berlin-Mitte: ein umgekippter Riesenkrake aus 64 Plastikrohren. Wie eine Orgel hat er Tasten, aber anstatt Töne steuern sie Gerüche an.“

That’s the simulation of his Smeller 2.0, the scent organ, explains Georgsdorf. Just like a movie simulates movement through a room through images, the smeller creates room movement through smells. Georgsdorf’s scent organ is currently in the St. John Evangelist Church in Berlin-Mitte: an overturned giant octopus made of 64 plastic pipes. Like an organ, he has keys, but instead of sounds, they control smells.“
