„Do scents sing? Do texts have color? Can lyric refuse narration? And most importantly: Do these issues have an impact on our perception of time? The symposium Interludium is devoted to these topics. Productions of time between literature, art and music.“
„Main focus of the event are the narrative and physical interrelationships of various arts and the resulting productions of time. Temporalities are currently intensively discussed in cultural studies, whereupon stabilizing of time in measurement, presentation and experience (DFG program of emphasis „Aesthetic proper time“) or the „Pluritemporality“ has been paid great attention to each historical moment. This event will explicitly focus attention on the material and narrative modifications and transformations of time, caused by the interaction of different fields of art.“
As part of the postgraduate college Materiality and Production the Interludium at Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf will be on 17th March 2016. Lovers of art and literature are invited to an evening of informative lectures, readings and panel discussions.
In his lecture topic Wolfgang Georgsdorf will attend to effects of sequential smelling on the perception of time and space in „Synosmies“, and he will introduce his scent projector Smeller 2.0, which will be presented and running this summer at Radialsystem V in Berlin as the medium of the Osmodrama festival.
